Proof, not promises
AXOL Console makes the latest available backup available, performs a test restore in a destination environment, isolates the VM from the network, starts it, captures visual evidence, and measures the actual recovery time.
At the end, the test environment is removed and the results remain available in the history.
1. Restore
At the scheduled time, the latest available backup is restored to the destination environment

The VM is started with its network adapter disabled, without changing the production machine

If the restore and startup are successful, the sysadmin receives an email with the details

We capture screenshots when the operating system is running and store them as proof that the test was successfully completed

Not another dashboard
AXOL Console does not replace Proxmox VE, which remains the reference platform for infrastructure management. AXOL Console focuses on repetitive tasks, automation, and checks that require intermediate steps.
The software is installed in a dedicated environment and does not require external services to operate. Data related to checks and verifications remains where it is generated.
AXOL Console was developed internally by AXOL Server based on issues and procedures encountered in real-world infrastructure management and in complex Proxmox environments. The goal is not to add yet another dashboard or transform operational activities that require technical judgment into “one-click” processes, but to automate repetitive, controllable, and documentable workflows.
Every operation remains traceable, including its author, date, type, and outcome. This includes automatic recovery checks performed on external systems.

Within the scope of NIS2, ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification, or GDPR, having backup copies is not enough: it is necessary to periodically verify their actual usability through restore tests and retain the related evidence.
AXOL Console supports this process by automating restore tests and producing documentation that can otherwise only be generated manually.
