AXOL Server is moving into C.NEXT Ivrea, where it will begin producing hyperconverged server clusters at the historic Officine ICO, a landmark in the history of computing. This former Olivetti site saw the development of the first high-performance transistor-based computer and, later, what is widely regarded as the world’s first personal computer. Today, in those very same facilities, AXOL Server produces high-availability clusters: three or more interconnected servers working together as a single high-performance system to ensure operational continuity.
Why Canavese
[…] The decision to choose Canavese as the location for launching our project stems from the vitality of its business community: an area with a strong concentration of SMEs and a long-standing culture of innovation […] Our goal is to establish Officine ICO as Italy’s leading center of expertise in open-source virtualization technologies, as well as the country’s premier manufacturer of servers specifically designed for hyperconverged clusters based on Proxmox and Ceph.
