On November 3 and 4, AXOL Server will be at SMAU Milano to discuss IT infrastructure with businesses, IT managers, and industry professionals. This year, we will also host a workshop dedicated to Proxmox and a practical question: how can you design systems that continue delivering services when something fails, while maintaining control over your data and technologies?
On Tuesday, November 3 at 11:30 a.m., in Arena 1, Luca Ferrario will host the workshop “Resilient systems and NIS2 without vendor lock-in: how to maintain control over data and services”.
We will start by looking at what happens when a server goes down or a service becomes unavailable. We will discuss the design choices that can help reduce single points of failure, distribute compute and storage, and prepare for service recovery. We will also explore the relationship between resilience, risk management, NIS2, and ISO 27001. Another key topic will be infrastructure control: the role of open-source technologies in reducing dependence on a single vendor, as well as the possibility of running AI models within the company’s own environment, keeping both data and compute capacity in-house.
